Fast Times in the Pinball Machine

In this video I attempted to capture the quality of time that characterizes a game of pinball. The accelerated, fragmented time and fast action, coupled with the bright lights and sounds effects call for adrenaline and nausea. The acceleration of time is also evident in the ability of the arcade game experience to condense long stretches of time into what feel like much shorter ones.

This piece is a reflection on the various accumulations that occur over time on a grand scale.  I attempted to illustrate an ancient space hidden from the surface which could house and embody these accumulations.  There is also an element of the performance of accumulation, as I tried to pile and layer various marks and media to build up and coagulate into a whole from the bottom up.
